Little Star was fantastic! We will use then again for the next reno for sure! We did a relatively large reno of our 45-year-old town house. All things considered, it went smooth. Any surprises, which we expected given the age of our home, were handled very professionally and we were always informed of any changes that needed to happen because of this. We redid the main floor, new ceilings, floors, powder-room and of course a new kitchen. Jobie has some fantastic ideas that really made the space feel unique and lovely. Upstairs, we added a bathroom with a beautiful curved wall that really opens the space and maximizes the space in the ensuite. Six months ago I did a bathroom renovation using the pouring method and my expectations were met. I was very worried that all this would be long. The next day guys came to me and in a couple of hours they did everything in the perfect way. Mom is extremely delighted. If you need a good bath renovation, quality and affordable prices, you know where to go.

My project was to combine two adjacent ground floor condo units, a split level artist live / work loft, and a small single level unit, previously used as my office. A key element was combining the two electrical panels into one so we could relocate the bathroom to make room for a doorway between the two units. Since I had been contemplating this reno for many years I had developed quite a list of ideas. The design and budget steps used by Little Star Renovations during the planning process very skillfully helped ensure that my wishes and wallet overlapped sufficiently to make the renovation a reality. They subtly offered many suggestions along the way that allowed me to determine where it made sense to spend or compromise. I decided to sleep in the upper level of my condo and use the shower at my employer's nearby office so I could devote more money to the actual renovation. This gave me the opportunity to see the trades people every single day during the entire construction phase. It was very easy to see the expertise that each person brought to the project. The biggest challenge we faced was getting the development and building permits, which was way more complex than expected. For example the city required that we measure the height, width and depth of each individual bicycle locker in the entire building AND count how many bike supports were mounted vertically up from the floor and horizontally out from the wall. While I still don't understand what that had to do with relocating my bathroom, to their credit, Little Star Renovations persevered through the entire lengthy permit process. Without their dedication this project might never have happened. I would not hesitate to recommend Little Star Renovations.

Little Star renovated the downstairs bathroom in our Vancouver loft back in 2021, and we were so impressed and happy with it that we recently had them renovate our ensuite in late 2023. It isnt just the high quality of the work that drew us to them, its also the people: Jobie has assembled an amazing group of professional, all-around lovely human beings. From Holly, Patty, and Pedro on the design front, to Pip cheerfully guiding us through unexpected budget changes or product unavailability, Sam keeping the project moving, and to Ian ensuring our place never looked like a haphazard construction zone (and for having the magical ability for keeping our cat calm) every person involved helped make it a consistently low-stress experience. We hope to work with Little Star again, and highly recommend you reach out to them too.

Just as winter was coming on in 2017, we bought a well-laid out but battered 20 year-old condo to begin our downsizing process after 35 years in a heritage home. Jobie was the first contractor not to blanch at the size of the job – rip out both bathrooms and the kitchen and completely redesign them, replace all the flooring, remove the spackle from the ceilings, and build floor to ceiling bookcases throughout. And he was brimming with creative ideas that we would never have come to on our own. Of course there were glitches and yes, the work ran months overtime, but the outstanding artisanship of Dave Arnold, and his team, responsible for creating all the millwork we requested, and Paul Van Bavel, whose tile work in the kitchen, bathrooms and the floor to ceiling fireplace surround are beautiful beyond belief, prevent me from dwelling on them. I open my eyes on beauty every day. Sam, our site manager (and his highly efficient assistant, Ian) is a wonder of charisma, energy and enthusiasm, moving swiftly to correct the occasional imperfections that have revealed themselves over the months since we moved in. During the construction itself, he was everywhere at once, ever-smiling, calm and professional, soothing our worries and charming our condo neighbors to be. The creation of our beautiful, much smaller new home, is 5-star work in my estimation.

Little Star was FANTASTIC. Everyone I worked with directly -- Jobie, Sam, Ian -- was friendly, professional, and prompt. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it -- and they did it beautifully. I was not in town for the renovations, but had complete confidence in the work they were doing. My confidence was obviously well-founded: they couldn't have done a better job. I recommend them without reservation!

We hired Little Star for a full condo renovation. From the beginning to the very end of the process, they were very communicative, clear, and collaborative. Renovations are inherently stressful, but Little Star worked to resolve any issues that came up promptly, thus providing us with peace of mind during the process. We hired Little Star to help with our renovation at Container Brewing. They're a great team, consummate professionals and just great to work with. Always punctual and communicative.

As noted the overall quality and responsiveness of the core team and it's contractors was excellent. The only criticism relates the the sub contractors who were good at giving their workers good instructions, but they never seemed to follow up with a timely assessment of the end results. If it had been done, rectification of any significant shortfalls, i.e. more than mere deficiencies, could have been taken place on a more timely basis. In the one case, it may have made a difference between having the recessed ceiling lights versus the less desirable low profile LED fixtures that aren't recessed. At the time discovered any options effectively disappeared as correction would have required more time and drywall mess to achieved the recessed led lights. The other similar issues were less dramatic, but still took more time than was necessary.

We are now substantially complete our reno to the main floor and parts of our bathrooms. Our experience with LSR has been exceptional from day 1. They have a professional team who provides great quality of work. Their millwork trade they use is also fabulous - we are very happy with our kitchen cabinets, nook, and shelving around the fireplace. Despite some challenges during the project, we are extremely happy with the end results. In particular, Sam, the Project Manager, has been exceptional in dealing with any of the issues that have come up. We know that in any project, there is always unexpected things that arises - the LSR team has been great in coming up with solutions to those issues. We definitely recommend LSR and would choose them again for any future renos.

We hired Little Star in Fall 2018 to undertake a full bathroom, living room, and kitchen renovation of our 1980's vintage townhome in North Van. This was our first foray into home renovations and our emotions ran the gamut: excited, scared, unsure what to expect! From our first meeting with Jobie, we knew we were making the right choice. We felt respected, listened to, and genuine excitement for the vision we had for our space. Early on, Pip and Patty helped us turn our vision into a detailed concept and design that worked with our budget. The collaborative and personal approach to this process was great. We contracted LSR to do a full Reno on our home and from the initial consultation to the completion we can honestly say it was an amazing experience. Jobie and his team are honest and trustworthy. There was never a moment when we weren’t notified up front of possible addditonal expenses due to the age of the home. We hired Little Star Renovations for the Design Phase for a main floor renovation of our 1910s craftsman style home with kitchen/bath remodel and building a deck. From Day 1 the LSR team was superb. They coordinated all the steps and documents for our permit application and provided ongoing support with a pragmatic approach as we navigated the municipal building permit application. Cannot recommend little star enough following our renovation of our kitchen/main floor. From start to finish, we felt taken care of. I had the Little Star Crew troubleshoot my deck which was leaking into my rental suite below. The guys were all so personable and professional, and expertly handled whole job through many stages to completion. (Demo of the compromised structure, insulation upgrade, reframing, sheathing, vinyl deck coating, and lastly the new wood deck top and railing including extension). It looks so good - thank you! The project went so well that I got them back to install an ornate gas fireplace which included new gas lines, quartz hearth, electrical hook up, framing and drywall, and french style mantle. I have used Little Star for small and large jobs - from replacing a single door to a kitchen reno. The work is always of a high quality but most importantly, it is done on schedule and on time. This comes from Jobie having his own crew and not relying on independent contractors. Little Star are organized, professional and trustworthy - I have no hesitation in recommending them. But, heh, forget the guys, best of all is dealing with Pip!

I highly recommend Little Star as your next renovation company, based on my experience. Little Star did a small project - re modelling of the small guest bathroom, but I felt like mine was their only and most important project. They really cared to make sure I was happy with every step of the project. Pip worked with me until I was happy with the budget and patiently answered all my questions and guided me with many decisions. Due to my away trips the renovation had to stop a couple of times and took longer than planned, but the crew was available when required and did an excellent job. Little Star was not cheap, but the crew was professional, courteous, respectful to my home and were very pleasant to deal with. Protection was used for high traffic areas on the floors and they cleaned up after the job. When unexpected complication happened, the problem was explained to me and they worked with me through the solution.

Little Star was awesome to work with. Pip, their coordinator, was in constant contact with us -- and was always one step ahead. They came to us with ideas and showed us samples so we didn't need to hunt for tile at the store. The bathroom looks incredible and the detail work is all there too: sockets are level, tiling is perfect, vanity drawers don't have weird gaps in them. Overall, we'd be happy to use them again.

Little Star completely renovated the bathroom and kitchen of my small condo. The kitchen reno was extensive since it involved complete change of locations of the appliances, replacing a patio door with a window, re-plumbing and re-wiring. They did an amazing job, transforming both spaces from worn-out, inefficient spaces to modern and beautiful, design-mag worthy rooms! if i wished to sell the unit--which i do not--i'm sure what i invested in the renos would come back to me. They also followed up and came back free of charge to re-hang a cupboard door and repaint some exterior work which was (through my fault) painted the wrong colour. At no charge! I am extremely happy with the kitchen remodel that Little Star Renovations did for me recently. Despite the fact that I live in the Comox Valley and their design team is in Vancouver, the process was simple and efficient with regular email communication. Jobie and his team listened to my ideas and feedback and designed an improved living space by opening up walls and adding finishing touches. My wife and I live in the Mount Seymour neighbourhood of North Vancouver, and we hired Little Star to complete renovations on our kitchen. We were very pleased with the quality of the work. The renovations were completed quickly, on budget and with a minimum of disruption. Little Star were excellent communicators and hired skilled trades (electrician, plumber, cabinetry etc). We recently worked with Little Star on a condo kitchen and bathroom renovation. From the very beginning, Little Star was both patient and supportive throughout the entire experience. The process took longer than expected as the requirements from the city changed from submission to submission. We love Little Star. This is our third (fourth?) project with them -- a whole main-floor & kitchen overhaul, plus bathroom, plus misc -- and they were fantastic. Jobie has great ideas, Sam is brilliant on execution, and Pip is always following up, communicating and keeping things on track. If you want a contractor that you don't have to hand-hold, hire these folks.

We hired Little Star for a renovation to the top floor of our townhouse. The reno took a little longer and had more hiccups than any of us were hoping for (due to some issues with one of the sub-contractos beyond Little Star's control). That being said, we appreciated Little Star taking on our relatively small project and we especially appreciated the way they made sure to follow the project through all the way to the end. For what it's worth, I used to practice construction law, and I had a lot of frustrated clients whose contractors eventually tried to bail on them when it became obvious that the project was too much trouble. Sam's and Liitle Star's commitment to the client and to doing a good job speaks volumes about the character of their company. Now that our loft looks all new and bright, I'm guessing it's only a matter of time until we're back to them to complete the rest of their designer's vision for our townhouse. We definitely need a break from the renos, but we'll be in touch down the road (when the dog stops chewing on the drywall...).

Little Star helped us with a few renovations in our new home in New Westminster. They removed a load-bearing wall and replaced some very sketchy stairs to our basement. They were a fantastic team to work with from start to finish and we would highly recommend them. We loved our experience with little star! We started our project with little star fall 2019 to spring 2020 after a previous contractor didn't work out. Little Star was really great at listening and doing exactly what we wanted. They never pressured us in any direction and they gave us several quotes on different versions of our project which helped us pick what mattered to us most for our budget. Our project consisted of the entire bathroom and partially the kitchen. We chose to do most of the kitchen ourselves, but little star did the heavy lifting: removing a wall, and did all plumbing and electrical. They did a great job in both places. We love the kitchen space without the wall and the bathroom is gorgeous!

We had a project on a heritage home that included new insulation in a crawlspace, minor foundation repair, electrical upgrade and a heat pump installation. The process of working through the budget before any work began was a game changer - throughout the project we knew exactly where we were and stayed on budget and the renovation was completed pretty much on time. Little Star Renovations completed our main floor renovation including a complete demo to studs, re-structuring the space with removal of load-bearing walls, installation of a complete new kitchen and floors. This has completely transformed our old living space a new, open-concept, bright, comforting space. Though the process took a long time, Jobie and his team were there in constant communication, offering reassurances and addressing our concerns. Patty, our designer, was very accommodating with our changing opinions. We especially thank the main project contractor, Sam Bastedo, for his amazing work. He kept us in the loop and was very quick to communicate any gaps or delays so we could plan our life accordingly. He was reliable, accommodating, and trustworthy. We also appreciate the fixed-cost model of LSR as all the up-front time spent planning the project and fitting it into our budget did ultimately pay off. Aside from a few extra items that frankly could not be anticipated, we stayed on budget. LSR is a hard-working, genuine team of professionals. They are transparent. I would trust them for any project and recommend them to anyone. Thank you all.

I cannot recommend Little Star Renovations highly enough! Overall - Sam, Jobie, Pip, and their team exceeded my expectations with the renovation of both bathrooms. I’m beyond thrilled with the results and will absolutely work with them again in the future!The team was incredibly accommodating to my specific needs and requests.
